Atomic Gothic.

Atomic Gothic: A digital comic. Page 1: Set in Tucson, Arizona in the winter of 1959. Outside, the winter sun shines on the typical Arizona landscape: Red rocks, a few cacti and the desert. But what the calm landscape doesn't show is the network of nuclear research systems underneath the brown earth. Inside a large grain silo rests Victor's workplace, full of labs, archives and radioactive containment zones. Victor holds his employee badge to a beeping scanner with his frostbitten hand, ready to escape into the fresh air. He turns to his companion and says: 'Think you can handle milk?'. His companion, that's Godiva, who holds their hand into the glaring sun. '... milk?' they ask in a feeble voice. Victor shrugs and moves them to the car: 'Yeah. Comes from cows. White. Drinkable-' 'I know what milk is,' says Godiva. It's funny how their voice rests small and light, nearly unchanging in tone yet conveys their annoyance clearly. Though, when they stand together in the supermarket in front of the selection of milk, they seem quite overwhelmed when Victor says: 'Great! Choose then.' Atomic Gothic: A digital comic. Page 2: Victor and Godiva are back inside. Godiva is picking the skin around their fingers. They're already red and raw from the bad habit. 'Maybe I just don't ... get it,' they confess. 'What?' says Victor, but Godiva nods to the laid table full of sandwiches, fruit, cocoa, sauces and the milk. 'This,' they say. Victor shrugs again. 'It's a simple allergy test.' And the words make Godiva think of all the other 'allergy tests' from before: With the colourful syringes, the blood in vitro, the tongs, the metal longer than their fingers and the bloody gloves. Godiva shudders when Victor lays a blanket over their shoulders. 'Regulation change number 27 permits us to sit down while conducting it,' Victor says, 'which suits us quite well, I think.' He sits down next to Godiva and hands them a cup of warm milk. Not too bad for an allergy test.

Who is that?!
Those two awesome characters are Victor and Godiva. I implore you to read the comic to truly understand what the fuck is going on here, but the Sparknotes version would be: Victor is slowly trying to reintegrate Godiva back into normal human life. It's going... uhm... well enough...

Arizona?!
Welcome to the nuclear age! Where safety regulations are sparse and the fear of the Russians is all-encompassing. Ready to watch the next nuclear test? Well, you don't get a choice! Here it comes :-D

Hm... this sounds interesting...
I'm glad! Read his comic here!
